This yummy crock pot dip makes the perfect low carb appetizer. Young and old will love this amazing warm keto crab dip.

Ingredients Needed in our CrockPot Keto Crab Dip.

    Onion.

    Tips on buying.

Onions should be very firm. Do NOT buy sprouting onions.

    Storage.

Surprisingly, onions can be stored in the refrigerator OR in a cool, dark spot. Onions last for weeks so feel comfortable buying these in bulk if they are an amazing price.

    Cutting an onion.

Make sure to use a SHARP knife when cutting an onion.

    Green Onion (Scallions)

    Tips on buying.

Look for vibrant green, crisp stems.

    Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

    Garlic.

I know I am going to get a lot of boos from the crowd, but I do often have the jar of chopped garlic in my refrigerator!

    Mayonnaise

I encourage all my patients to look for olive oil or avocado oil based mayonnaise. One of my favorite brands is Primal Kitchen.

    Tony Spice N Herb Seasoning.

Tony’s is a super popular Cajun seasoning that I adore. If you are not a fan or  you can’t find it at your local store, use your favorite seasoning.

    Heavy Whipping Cream.

    Cream Cheese.

I personally like to use ⅓ fat cream cheese (it has no added sugar, so don’t worry), but for my STRICTLY KETO friends, use the full fat.

    Crab Meat

The crab meat in this recipe is 100% crab meat. Crab meat should always be refrigerated. DO NOT purchase imitation crab meat. Imitation crab meat is loaded with sugar and carbs.

Parm Crisp, Whisp, High Key Crackers, or Other Keto Cracker.

This is where things can get a little complicated. Dips are FABULOUS, but what we use as our ‘chip’ can often be high carb. In the last few years, I have found some fabulous low carb chips including Parm Crisp, Whisp, and High Key Crackers. I have found Parm Crisp and Whips at Wal-Mart and High Key Crackers at Target and Drug Emporium.

Why You Will Love My Keto Crab Dip.

It’s a dump recipe. We just ‘dump’ the ingredients in a crock pot and turn knob to low. That’s it!

It’s a perfect warm keto dip. Zero sugar. No added carbs. This is a winner.

You add your own flavors. I love Tony’s seasoning, but you can dress up this keto crab dip how you like!

How to Make Crock Pot Keto Crab Dip.

Combine all ingredients (except chips/crackers) in a crockpot.

Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours.

Serve with Parm Crisp, Whisp, High Key Crackers, or other keto crackers.

What Crock Pot Did You Use?

My crock pot is super basic! I have a super simple Programmable Crock Pot that lives on my counter!

I Don’t Own a Crock Pot. What Can I Do?

You can easily transfer this recipe to the oven. Combine all ingredients in a large casserole dish and cook at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes.

Check Out Our Video Giving You Step-by-Step Directions on Making Low Carb Crab Dip.

    How to Store Leftovers?

Leftovers? You probably won’t have any! I am super serious! Store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator.

    Can I Freeze this Recipe?

Technically, you can freeze any recipe, but personally, I would not. Freezing cooked seafood and reheating kinda grosses me out (unless it is crawfish).

How Long Does it Take to Reheat?

Since this is an appetizer, I just can’t imagine placing it back in the crockpot. I would grab a small saucepan and heat over low heat.

What Can I Do with Leftovers?

Again, you probably will not have leftovers! Sounds strange, but I LOVE to put this on top of a Mission Carb Balance Wrap (I love the cauliflower wraps since they are gluten free). Place the PLAIN wrap in the oven (400 degrees) for 10 minutes. Remove the wrap. Spread the leftover keto crab dip on the wrap. Place back in the oven for 5 minutes. AMAZE!

What Else Can I Serve with our Low Carb Crab Dip?

Since this is a fabulous low carb appetizer recipe, I would serve with more appetizers. You can check out my fabulous Keto Meatball ideas to complete your party!

    FAQ.

Is our crab dip keto friendly?

Yes! My crab dip is keto friendly. Coming in at 2 grams of carbs per serving, my dip can fit into a keto lifestyle. Please note - you must use a low carb or keto friendly cracker as suggested to make the entire dish keto and low carb.

What are the net carbs in our dip?

Net carbs are calculated as total carbs - dietary fiber.

With the carbs in our crab dip at 2 grams and 1 gram of fiber, the net carbs in our low crab dip is 1 gram.

What are the carbs in crab?

Great news! Crab is an amazing source of protein with virtually zero carbs. A 3-ounce serving of crab comes in at 0 grams of carbs.

    Is crab keto?

Crab can fit easily into our keto lifestyle. With 3-ounces of crab coming in at ZERO carbs, it is the perfect protein to add into our keto plan. As always, make sure to look at the label on any crab you purchase to make sure no added sugar and/or starch is added to the crab.

    Is imitation crab keto?

No! No! No! Imitation crab is made from surimi, which is flesh fish typically from the pollock. It is then combined with other ingredients, sugar and starch. Starch is added to firm up the fish (let’s call it what it is) and allow it to freeze. 3 ounces of imitation crab contains 6 grams of carbs and 5.3 grams of sugar.

    I don’t like Tony’s. Can I add other seasonings?

Yes and yes! Please remember, I give you all a base recipe. Please please feel free to use your FAVORITE seasonings and spices.
